Self-Care for Mental Health is your time and space to heal in community. 🫶 Hi friend, I’m Amy – a table enthusiast who loves sunshine ☀️, coffee ☕️, and creating spaces where people feel safe to talk about their mental health and wellness. ❤️🩹🌊 I am a Certified Peer Specialist and Self-Care Coach who has seen first hand how important it is when we learn how to love ourselves right where we need to be on our way to where we want to go. I spent years longing to connect with others in deep meaningful ways but too often I was stuck in cycles of shame, not prioritizing my own self-care. I lived in silence, feeling invisible. It wasn’t until I risked being vulnerable and sharing what I was living with, that I found a community of peers with similar lived experiences where I could heal authentically. I believe having safe spaces to talk about our mental health and wellness is essential to recovering our lives. Self-Care for Mental Health is a safe space where you will hear from a community of peers who understand what it is like to live with mental health challenges, and who daily inspire hope that mental health and wellness recovery is possible for everyone. If you are done not making your own self-care a priority, tired of slipping into shame cycles leading to isolation, and are curious about having a safe space where you can connect with others in a non-judgmental environment, you’re in the right place. Get ready to be surrounded by love and acceptance wherever you are on your wellness journey. Your presence matters here! Hi friend,
Have you been experiencing overwhelming emotions lately that feel like a tidal wave coming to wipe you out? I see you. I know right where you are. 🛟
I used to live in fear of my emotions like they were the enemy, instead of embracing them as my friend. They were never surfacing to destroy me, instead they were serving as a signal alerting me of something I needed to pay attention to. An area in my life that needed my care.
Self-Care begins with courage. Taking care of ourselves in the ways we need to in order to recover our wellness is courageous. We can learn to face our fears and take brave action in the face of them.
Today I am sharing 3 action steps you can take to choose courage over fear when it comes to practicing self-care.

Hi friend,
Do you find yourself dreading the “How are you” question? 🙋🏻♀️
For me it can often feel like there is pressure and an expectation to say “I’m good” or “I’m fine”, even though that may not be the case. 🫤
The season of Spring can be one of the hardest times for those of us who struggle with our mental health and wellness. ❤️🩹
Contrary to what society makes it out to be, the highest rates of suicide around the world happen in the Spring not Winter. 💔
In today’s episode, I will be sharing about the importance of self-reflection, checking in with ourselves and those around us, and growing in awareness of how we are seasonally affected so we can move towards connection and what nourishes us, instead of isolation.

I'm so glad you are here! 🫶
Hi friend,
Do you find yourself having thoughts like…
“There must be something wrong with me.”
“I’ll never be enough.”
“I feel so different. So other.”
When you have a thought like this, do you share it with a trusted someone or do you tend to hide what you are thinking and how it is making you feel?
What if I told you there is nothing wrong with you, that you are enough right now wherever you are, and feeling different or other is actually a sign that you are being authentic?
This is just an example of what a safe community can be for our mental health. A loving peer can offer a different perspective than how the thoughts sound in our head.
Moving out of isolation and into a safe community silences the stigma that keeps us disconnected.

It can feel very scary and unsettling when we don’t feel like ourselves. It is important to be gentle and kind as we acknowledge what is going on and remind ourselves this is just a place we are passing through.
Today’s episode is an invitation to pull up a chair and sit with yourself as I share from my own experience of not feeling like myself and steps I took to care for myself.
